Wright To Take Over New Venture?
From deep within the coaching rumor mill comes this tidbit from the San Antonio News-Express: Oklahoma assistant Bobby Jack Wright may be a candidate to head up Texas-San Antonio's foray into college football.
Wright has a reputation for shooting from the hip and being coy with the media, so it's tough to tell if the outgoing Sooner assistant really is a candidate for the job based on his comments. UTSA certainly could do worse than the 58-year-old assistant defensive coordinator and secondary coach, who is known as a crackerjack recruiter and boasts decades of coaching experience in the Southwest.
Of course, there are plenty of OU fans out there who wouldn't be too sad to see Wright go, given that he oversees the Sooners' much-maligned secondary. Homerism is ambivalent.
