Oklahoma Sooners 44, Kansas Jayhawks 7: Postgame Reactions

Thoughts on Oklahoma's 44-7 win over Kansas:
*I don't know how much I can add to the praise of Samaje Perine and his recording-setting 427 yards on the ground. KU might be terrible, but, given the miserable conditions in which the game was played, everyone in the stadium knew OU's freshman running back would be getting the ball all day long. The Jayhawks still couldn't stop him.
Perine's teammates obviously deserve a heaping helping of praise for the wide lanes that their mack truck of a tailback blew through. OU's blockers just pummeled KU defenders all day long.
*You could argue that Perine has been the story of an otherwise disappointing year for the Sooners. The first-year tailback will probably go over 1,500 yards rushing in the season finale versus Oklahoma State in a couple weeks. He's averaging 6.7 yards per rushing attempt this year and isn't showing any signs of wearing down after topping 200 carries.
*Not sure if this is the right time to mention that Perine carried the ball a grand total of five times versus Baylor earlier this month.
*In light of the weather, take it easy on Cody Thomas. Awful stat line, but tough to expect much out of him.
*Likewise, don't go overboard about the D. Again, KU stinks, and the weather had a multiplier effect on said stank.
*I have to admit that I was really surprised to see Sterling Shepard out on the field to start the game. After 16 years of Bob Stoops, that falls under the category of "fool me 347 times..."
But putting him back to return punts? Come on, man.
*Say Quentin Hayes can't go in a couple weeks against OSU, but Julian Wilson can. Might Mike Stoops play Wilson at safety and keep Jordan Thomas at cornerback? I really like where Thomas is heading.
