*I have a preview up of the Texas-Oklahoma State game over at Athlon. Tough call between two teams that are having issues on defense.
*The fellas at The FrogCast invited me on earlier this week to break down TCU-OU, although we really spent more time discussing the fate of the Big 12 than anything else. I spent a lot of time going over that with Ralph Russo of the AP on my own show this week, too.
*I know we've heard it all before, but Mike Gundy and OSU (read: super booster Boone Pickens) could be heading for an acrimonious split. No one likes it when rich egomaniacs like Pickens throw their weight around, but for all the money he has pumped into that program, that's kinda how it goes. Hundreds of millions of dollars always come with strings attached.
LSU could do much, much worse than Gundy if presumed front runners Jimbo Fisher and Tom Herman fall through.
*Speaking of which, it should come as no surprise that Bob Stoops' name is showing up on LSU's purported wish list. If they're really took the temperatures of Urban Meyer and Nick Saban, it gives a good idea of just how audacious the Tigers plan on being.
I'd bet heavily against Stoops going anywhere with his sons still in high school.
(And stop with the Art Briles stuff. LSU has absolutely no reason to even entertain the idea of bringing on a coach with that kind of baggage.)
