Picks Trying Not to Suck: Week 10

BH got back to giving out winners last week. Skinny... not so much.

Let's see what's on tap this week.

BLATANT HOMERISM--Week 10
Last week: 3-2; Overall: 25-19-1

Abbreviated breakdowns this week. Sometimes life just gets in the way.

Nebraska at Ohio State (-17)

I would love to give you more on this one than "this line looks too good to be true," but... this line looks too good to be true.

The pick: Buckeyes roll Big Red.

Alabama at LSU (+8)

I almost feel like I'd be cheating y'all if I didn't give out a pick on this one. That's how much conviction I have about this call.

I picked LSU outright in this game earlier this year, so let's hang it out there again.

The pick: Win one for Coach Eaux.

Virginia Tech (-11) at Duke

I really like the Hokies more and more every time I watch them. They have a shot at knocking off Clemson in the ACC title game.

Only question for me here is if the Blue Devils' molasses-like tempo will keep Tech from having enough possessions to cover.

The pick: Hokies, 27-14.

Navy vs. Notre Dame (-7)
*Jacksonville, Florida

South Florida went up and down the field at will against the Midshipmen last week. I haven't seen much to make me think they can slow down the Fighting Irish.

Navy's best hope lies in milking the clock, but ND's defense has made enough strides since the ax fell on Brian VanGorder to think that the Irish will force stops.

By the way, Jacksonville? Woof.

The pick: Irish by two touchdowns.

Washington at California (+17)

Best put on your big boy pants when you come to Berkeley, Huskies.

The pick: UW by not enough.

The Skinny--Week 10
Last week: 1-4; Overall: 17-26-1

Alabama at LSU (+8)
TCU at Baylor (-7.5)
Oklahoma State at Kansas State (-2.5)
Arizona at Washington State (-17)
Washington at California (+17)
